VSL Steinweg Polymers Services in the news.
The 8 December 2009 issue of Logistiek, Dutch logistics trade magazine, contained a short article describing the recently started collaboration between VSL SiloLogistics and Steinweg. Page 74 reads as follows: 'The strategic alliance recently concluded between logistic service providers VSL SiloLogistics and C. Steinweg gives Dutch silo logistics a more powerful international presence. Already the largest silo logistics player in the Netherlands, VSL created VSL Steinweg Polymers Services to expand its network and come alongside Alfred Talke of Germany and Katoen Natie of Belgium in the international playing field. VSL, whose principal business is establishing silo platforms, is working to establish a global network while focusing on import flows in the Rotterdam Port Area. ''We intend to be leading in logistics as the Tweede Maasvlakte develops', says Jacques Kleinkramer, CEO of VSL. Jointly with Steinweg, operator of several terminals in Rotterdam and specialist in rail and waterway transport, Kleinkramer is reviewing various options. 'We are looking at Duisburg for instance as a location from which to serve the hinterland.'
