VSL SiloLogistics 'ready to roll' in 2011.
On Saturday 11 December VSL SiloLogistics held its annual company get-together, this time in Brasschaat, Belgium. As in the past two years most VSL staff from the Moerdijk, Nuth, Born, Oss, Lillo, Hoogerheide, Tessenderlo and Terneuzen sites came with their partners to enjoy the festive afternoon and evening out. At the formal meeting CEO Jaques Kleinkramer updated all on the key developments concerning the company in 2010, a year with a slow start and a strong finish.
Kleinkramer first talked about developments at all VSL-sites and then shared information on a number of organizational and strategic issues. The VSL-captain ended with the conclusion that market conditions will remain difficult, and hence that it must continue to operate in a 'cost-conscious way'. Furthermore, there is every reason to look with anticipation to 2011. 'If the (macro-) economic tide goes well and everyone's effort is as good as in 2010, we will be even more successful in 2011!'
After these words, the buffet opened and the rest of the evening was dominated by fun and music. Grand finale was a performance by Belle Perez. 'Our company get-together is being perceived as a yearly highlight by all of us, but I do notice that every year, the event is more valued by all colleagues than the year before,' said Jacques Klein Kramer afterwards. 'As a company we seem to grow ever closer together and that's really good to see.'
