Kleinkramer's market outlook.
'With the sun shining and the Dutch side competing for first place at the World Championship, I am again working on my "market outlook". In recent months the market appears to experience a steady, structural recovery. One symptom being the recent shortages in transport capacity, though this might also be a function of the traditionally short workweeks, especially in May. Still, it does point to a cautious recovery of transport prices, a thing sorely needed in the "wheeled branch".
We will see whether this will prove to be a fast or a more gradual recovery. If (too) fast, then it will pose problems with capacity being scarce and stock levels minimized so that a fast recovery will result in demand exceeding supply. A situation potentially generating strains in the market ... This is obviously not a cause for complaint but rather a reason for us as a logistic services provider to display our customary flexibility and exceed our customers' expectations! I am confident we will be able to comply at all times, so this aspect does not worry me.
At head office we welcomed Jeroen Groenendijk (Controller), Herbert Dikken, succeeding Allard van Pelt as Financial Director, and Marleen van der Stel. These three additions bring us to full strength and definitely enhance the quality of our services. I would like to conclude by wishing all a wonderful vacation; enjoy this time off with family and the fine weather and relaxation so that after this one or two week break we can all resume our work with renewed energy!'
