In de spotlight: VSL SiloLogistics Tessenderlo
The Belgian city of Tessenderlo has developed into one of the most important industrial centres in the country, and that's no surprise. With thanks to the giant Tessenderlo Chemie NV as driving force for business and its geographical advantage (motorway, railway and canal) on the hub between Antwerp and the Ruhr Area, growth and further development seem almost certain. Tessenderlo is the place to be and that can also be said of the local site of VSL SiloLogistics. Since 1989, storage, transfer and packaging activities for plastics can be found there, for amongst others, Dow Chemicals and ten years ago a base chemical branch was added. The work that VSL SiloLogistics has done for Tessenderlo Chemie since 1998 is considered as the norm for customer orientated packaging of phosphate and sulphate raw materials for use in fertilizer and additives for cattle feed. The 14 people-staff, led by the new site manager Piet Nogarede receives and supports daily a plethora of drivers in and around the Silo park and Warehouse. "Our own VSL SiloLogistics drivers, driving for Dow with additional drivers from our facility in Nuth allowing for further flexibility." The capacity of VSL SiloLogistics Tessenderlo is being completely used for the present customers. "We wish to grow, but at the moment the possibilities are limited" says Piet Nogarede "that is where the challenge is!"
